Episcopal Senior Ministries: Donate

There are many ways to support Episcopal Senior Ministries and its services. Volunteer opportunities are listed throughout the website. In addition, ESM has a long history of financial giving. This section describes ways in which individuals, churches, and businesses can provide financial gifts to support the work of ESM. Its first home for the elderly was given by Cornelia Jones in 1924. Individuals, corporations, and churches have helped ESM expand its services and provide subsidies for those in need.

Today, Contributions Allow ESM to:

  • offer care management services through ESM Cares on a sliding scale fee basis;
  • provide financial assistance to residents at Friendship Terrace Retirement Community who otherwise might be forced to leave due to changes in their financial circumstances;
  • provide supportive house and shared living opportunities to low in come seniors through Christian Communities Group Homes.
  • help seniors remain safely in their own homes through the Age-in-Place program serving Washington, DC.
  • support transportation services in Southern Prince George's County through St. Philip's Senior Van and in Northwest Washington through IONA’s transportation service funded by ESM;
  • provide subsidized medical and health advise to low income seniors in ESM’s housing communities,
  • sponsor the annual May Senior Celebrations to recognize the contributions seniors throughout the Episcopal Washington Diocese have made to their church and community
  • provide some financial assistance for medical necessities; and
  • recruit and coordinate volunteer services to improve the lives of seniors.
Donor Thank You

ESM, Friendship Terrace Retirement Community, ESM Cares, and Christian Communities Group Homes thank the people and organizations who have recently made donations.

We are grateful to the United Way and Combined Federal Campaign for including us yet again in their annual workplace giving campaigns. ESM’s United Way Code remains the same at #8904, and our new Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Code is #63211; The United Way Code for CCGH remains the same at #8061, and CCGH’s new CFC Code is #58585.

ESM extends a thank you to several grantors who are providing support to ESM and its affiliates: Poor Roberts Foundation who recently gave a new van to Christian Communities Group Homes (CCGH), and Wells Fargo Foundation for their support of CCGH.
